Professor Program Promos

The Professor Program Promos is a set of promotional Pokémon cards issued by The Pokémon Company International to participating professors in their Pokémon Professor Program from 2013 to 2016. The set consists of 13 cards which were primarily released in Japan, with a few released in Europe and the United States. Each card features a professor and a professor’s Pokémon. The artwork for the set was done by the Japanese illustrator Tomoko Kobayashi. The cards are unnumbered and feature different rarities based on the region in which they were released, with the Japanese versions being significantly rarer. They were distributed through various promotional materials including postcards, foil packs and flash cards, as well as through events and trading cards associated with the professor program. The set features Pokémon-EX, Mega, Trainer and Stadium cards which range in rarity from common to ultra rare. Each card features artwork, text, and a unique card type that provides information on the Pokémon, its characteristics and its effect. The Pokémon cards in the set all feature art style similar to that of the Generation VI games and cards. The Professor Program Promos are highly sought after by collectors due to the rarity of the cards and the fact that some of the cards feature characters from the various Pokémon videogames.
