Base Set (Shadowless)

The Pokemon card set Base Set (Shadowless) is the very first set of Pokemon cards released in the United States, beginning the Pokemon Trading Card Game phenomenon. Base Set (Shadowless) consists of 102 cards, including all of the original 151 Pokemon from the anime and video games. Of the 102 cards, 11 of them are holofoil cards and feature the original artwork used in the Pokemon video games.

The set includes 12 types of Pokemon (Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Fighting, Psychic, Colorless, Darkness, Metal, Dragon, Fairy, and Stadium). There are six different kinds of Trainers (Professor Oak, Item, Supporter, Stadium, Energy Removal, and Switch). The set also includes five kinds of Energy (Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning and Psychic).
